Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Are you a business or a non-profit?
We are not a non-profit. We decided it would be easier to become a for-profit business.
  2. Do you have a trip fee?
Yes, our regular trip fee is $30. The trip fee for anything network related is $45. This price only applies to the Durham, NC area. Other locations will differ in price. This fee covers our time, our fuel, and the maintenance on the vehicle used to come out to service you. The trip fee is nonrefundable.
  3. Why do you have flat rates instead of time rates?
We here at Duel Wave felt that to have affordable prices we should give people flat rates. That way it is more economical, and you know the price before you commit to the service.
  4. What happens when you can't fix it?
There will be no additional charges; however, the trip fee is still charged to your bill.
  5. How long do you take to fix a computer?
Most problems can be fixed within a 3 hour time period or less, if the problem is more extensive we will request to take the unit and drop it of when it is finished.
  6. Do you take drop offs?
Unfortunately, we can not take any drop offs at the current location we are at; however, we can gladly arrange a time to come to pick the unit up, and drop it back off once the work is complete. If for some reason you just can not afford our $30 trip fee, or are worried that it may turn out to be unfixable, then we can arrange a place and time to meet in an area near by us so that you pay a $15 diagnosis fee instead.
  7. Why do you come dressed unprofessional?
Who says someone needs to wear a uniform or a suit and tie to be perceived as a professional? We believe in freedom of expression and choice. We are very down to earth, and like to present ourselves as who we are and not some corporate brand image. Of course we do not show up in our pajamas or dirty clothes. However, we are a casual dress business. This means we don't spend extra money on uniforms that you, the customer, would have to cover.
  8. Why do you have "coming soon" sections on your website?
Basically coming soon means just that. This may sound ironic coming from a business that also does web design, but we just haven’t had the time to include or update those sections of our website yet. We do plan on updating those sections as soon as we have all the information to fill them with. We are too busy at the moment serving other customers just like yourself. We believe our customers should come first, which means our website can wait till our client’s website is done. Also, please remember we are still busy with school too.

We are here to serve the community!
